History Of The Hotel

In 1964, Helnan Palestine Hotel was built within six months to accommodate the Arab Kings and Heads of States participating in the Second Arab Summit in Alexandria, Egypt.  Naturally, nothing was spared to provide maximum luxury, beauty and comfort for the guests.

The hotel’s location was carefully chosen by late President Gamal Abd El Nasser and was built on historical ground within the 350 acres of lush gardens of the Montaza Royal Palace – once the site of the late King Farouk’s summer palace – near to Montaza’s fine beaches.

Helnan International Management Company took over the management of Palestine Hotel in 1987, and since then it has undergone several renovations, including complete redecoration and refurbishment.

In October 2002, the hotel hosted the world’s Kings, Queens and Presidents when they visited Egypt for the historical inauguration of the Alexandria Bibliotheca.

Helnan Palestine hotel continues to be the hotel of choice for many Heads of States, delegations and famous names visiting Alexandria, all looking for luxury with comfort, excellence with style, elegance with simplicity in service and hospitality.

Helnan Palestine hotel offers 217 spacious rooms and suites, each luxuriously appointed and tastefully furnished with views overlooking the sea and the Royal Gardens.
